Leaving Kuromon Market we walked from Nipponbashi to Namba (also known as the entertainment district). It was pretty quiet in the morning and we enjoyed the tranquility very much.

After a few minutes we arrived at Namba’s most popular “Utensils Street” Sennichimae Doguyasuji (千日前). It is famous for its diverse selection of Japanese kitchenware selling plastic food replicas, cutleries, tableware etc. There are lots of cheap eateries at Namba, Mr F is a beef fanantic and he loves Matsuya (松屋)!

Matsuya is the third largest Gyudon (Beef Rice, 牛丼) restaurant chain in Japan. These Gyudon-Ya makes dining out incredibly cheap and informal, so it is very popular among students and single men who don’t cook at home. A small bowl ofBeef Rice (牛めし) is only 280Yen (A$3.5)! We ordered one of the most popular set menu Beef Rib Fillet Set (カルビ焼肉定食) for 980Yen (A$12). With the set menu you get a dish of freshly grilled beef fillets (very good quality), steamed rice, miso soup, salad and radish.
